A man has been arrested after Leeds United closed their Elland Road stadium "following reports of a security threat to the premises".Leeds were forced to send staff home and close the club offices, ticket office, foundation offices and club shop "on the advice of the police".West Yorkshire Police arrested a 20-year-old man "in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing".It is thought the closure was due to a threat posted on social media."Police were called to attend at Elland Road football stadium following reports of a security threat to the premises," said an earlier West Yorkshire Police statement.They added they were alerted shortly before 22:00 GMT on Thursday. Hong Kong CNN  —  China has approved its first Covid-19 vaccine based on mRNA technology, months after the country lifted strict pandemic measures. The vaccine was developed by CSPC Pharmaceutical Group, a homegrown firm based in the northern Chinese city of Shijiazhuang, it said in a Wednesday statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange. The vaccine targets the Omicron variant and was tested in China with over 5,500 people, it added. CNN  —  The United States is facing a crisis of overdose deaths. In 2021, more than 106,000 Americans lost their lives to drug-involved overdoses — including more than 1,100 teens that year alone. Synthetic opioids, primarily involving the powerful drug fentanyl, are the main driver of overdose deaths, with nearly a 7.5-fold increase overall from 2015 to 2021, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Overdoses and poisoning are the third leading cause of death in kids and adolescents age 19 and younger. In 2022, the US Drug Enforcement Administration seized over 50 million fake prescription pills and more than 10,000 pounds of fentanyl. All of this comes as parents and caregivers are increasingly concerned about fentanyl poisonings among teens and young adults who unknowingly consume fentanyl-laced pills illegally sold under the guise of a less powerful drug.
